Dry sculptures
Twisted branches and pebbles balanced in poetic harmony.
Local materials
Driftwood, stumps, roots, naturally durable chestnut or acacia branches and pebbles. Salvage locally rather than buying: it is more frugal and fits the dry garden spirit.
Composing with emptiness
One main element, two secondary ones and plenty of empty space. Join pieces with stainless rods rather than glue so they can be dismantled or moved.
Biodiversity and lifespan
Cracks in the wood shelter solitary bees, ground beetles and lizards. Wood greys within one to two years; check stability after autumn storms.
